Together with the Association of the German Furniture Industry (VDM) and the German Furniture and Kitchen Retailers Association (BVDM), Koelnmesse has decided to skip the imm cologne's January 2025 edition. This joint decision was taken following intense discussions and reflects the challenging conditions the furniture industry is currently facing, particularly in Germany. It gives everyone involved the chance to collaborate with Koelnmesse on the development of a new, more viable future trade fair format.

In close collaboration with Danish Industry and Creative Denmark, imm cologne 2025 will showcase a partner country for the first time. As a pioneer of modern, functional, minimalist and sustainable furniture design, Denmark will be represented in Cologne in a variety of ways. This collaboration confirms imm cologne’s position as an international platform for innovative furnishing solutions and strengthens its reputation as one of the industry’s leading trade fairs.

As the industry’s central sourcing platform, the Interior Business Event is set to focus on international networking.

From 12 to 16 January 2025, the trends of tomorrow will once again be set in Cologne. Now that the early-bird booking period has ended, companies can secure their place at the Interior Business Event on the standard terms – and take advantage of Koelnmesse’s new offerings. The new formats have been specially designed to provide the right package for every exhibitor so that the entire world of interior design can gather in Cologne – from innovative start-ups to medium-sized companies with long-standing traditions.

Following the positive response to imm cologne in January 2024, preparations are already in full swing for the next edition of the Interior Business Event, which is scheduled to take place from 12 to 16 January 2025. By further refining tried-and-tested formats, the organisers aim to offer an even more compelling and effective trade fair experience that will inspire exhibitors and trade visitors alike and encourage collaboration.

From Sunday, the Interior Business Event will once again host an international industry gathering in Cologne.

Two well-known pairs of influencers active in the interior design and trends scene are curating furniture and decorative objects from renowned exhibitors in the Inspiration Circles at imm cologne 2024. The presentations invite visitors to explore design, aesthetics and personal expression and have been designed to complement the overarching trade fair concept “The Circles”.

One of the highlights of the innovative trade fair concept The Circles at imm cologne 2024 is set to be the Installation Circles. Here three internationally renowned design studios will present their artistically staged installations on the themes of “Welcome to Stay”, “Sense of Surface” and “Impact of Light”.

The 20th edition of the Pure Talents Contest for the next generation of designers attracted an exceptionally high number of applicants: with 1165 entries, 893 designers from 76 countries competed for the coveted exhibition spaces at imm cologne 2024.

At the start of the new year, Germany’s largest Interior Business Event will present the trends for the season ahead and is once again poised to be the key meeting place for the international furnishings scene. With its central theme of Connecting Communities, the trade fair is inviting visitors to come and discover the new collections and product innovations, to exchange ideas, discuss trends, make new contacts and maintain existing relationships.

Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) is set to support the participation of innovative young businesses in imm cologne once again in 2024. By covering up to 60 per cent of their stand costs, the funding programme offers emerging start-ups the opportunity to showcase their novel ideas at Germany’s largest Interior Business Event and boost their export activities.

A good two months before imm cologne 2024 opens, the list of confirmed trade fair participants now includes key representatives from the retail and wholesale trade and the associations as well as important marketing partners. These confirmations on the visitor side come in addition to the numerous major exhibitors appearing at the Interior Business Event.

Jointly hosted by the Association of the German Furniture Industry (VDM) and the German Federal Association of Furniture & Kitchen Retailers (BVDM), the imm cologne Summit will bring together leading figures from the German interior design scene as part of imm cologne 2024. These speakers will provide groundbreaking inspiration and shed light on future prospects for the industry and the retail sector.

The concept The Circles will continue its success story at imm cologne from 14 to 18 January 2024. With its selection of four different Circle areas, the leading international interior design trade fair will offer diverse content and event formats that will be central destinations for business, inspiration and networking for trade fair participants.

Germany’s biggest interior design trade fair can already report an excellent level of registrations four months before the event opens. Hall 1, which will form part of the exhibition space for the first time, is fully booked even at this early stage. Featuring market leaders, a new layout and numerous highlights as part of an innovative event and content concept, this hall will provide a forum for inspiration and networking.
