In recent years, the term interior designer has become more and more established in Germany. This is also due to the fact that this English term can be used in place of various German equivalents, all of which are used to describe experts in room decoration. The new “German Interior Designers” book introduces 34 such experts along with their current projects.
The common driver for each of them is a space that can be lived in and experienced thanks to its carefully considered design. Intensive communication and a great deal of organisational talent are required from initial planning through to the final touches in order to merge the specifications and ideas of the builder and client with those of the various tradesmen, down to the last detail. This calls for a special understanding of people, which all of the studios presented here demonstrate in every project.
This book unveils unique and trendsetting room concepts for living and working spaces, retail, gastronomy, trade fair construction, social facilities and the healthcare sector. Each one reveals its own philosophy: individual, atmospheric, sensual, customised, innovative, high-quality, timeless and sustainable. In the rooms presented, emotions are stirred by materials, colours, fabrics, furniture, art and above all by light – elements that are intended to create a feel-good experience for residents, employees, visitors, guests and patients. With a masterly balance between reduction and dynamics, spaces and people are brought together. The book has been available to buy since 15 February 2019.
