As part of imm cologne 2019, Koelnmesse Congress Centre North hosts the imm cologne Congress on 17 January 2019. The Interior Business Event is intended for German and international top-level decision makers from the furniture, kitchens and interiors industry. The focus will be on company executives, managing directors, decision makers and senior staff from the following areas of business: e-commerce, (online) sales and marketing, purchasing and logistics, product and brand management, and strategic planning. Matthias Pollmann, Vice President Trade Fair Management at Koelnmesse, explains: “With the imm cologne Congress taking place for the sixth time in 2019, we have the opportunity to shed more light on issues of importance to the furniture and interiors industry, especially e-commerce, in the form of talks and round-table discussions, and to present key trend inspiration and best practice examples.”
One person who is very familiar with the topic of e-commerce is Matthias Schu, Head of E-Commerce Projects at coop@home. During the congress, he will lead a round-table discussion on the subject of “Goals and learnings from international growth”.
“E-commerce is standard practice in today’s world,” states Schu, “but achieving international success in e-commerce also means selecting and working within markets that are suitable for the particular company. So that this doesn’t become a stumbling block, I would like to give congress attendees the necessary tools in my lecture to enjoy international success with an online shop.”
The programme of talks at the imm cologne congress: extensive and ambitious
In total, 16 top-class speakers will offer information and insights into their respective fields. Among them: Anne Dirfard, interiors blogger and home furnishings consultant, 170qm; Andreas Häntsch, Director of Home & Garden, eBay Germany; Dr Michael Heller, Categories Director at Otto GmbH & Co KG; Thorsten Hermes, Head of Strategy and Digital Transformation in Retail Markets, Google Germany GmbH; Dr Kai Hudetz, Managing Director of IFH Cologne; Björn Reißig, Country eCommerce Manager at IKEA Germany; Arne Stock, COO, moebel.de Einrichten & Wohnen AG; Martin Wetscher, Managing Director of Wetscher GmbH; and Guido Syré, Managing Director DACH region, made.com. The subject highlights at the congress include:
- Online shops and marketplaces – this is how successful cooperation works
- Customer focus and digital marketing – at the heart of everything you do
- VR/AR, 3D and voice-operated – these are the technologies that furniture buyers expect to be available in the future
- Delivery times, logistics and individualising – challenges in furniture e-commerce and customised solutions
- Payment mix in the online shop and international growth – how to become an e-commerce professional and gain a lead over competitors
By joining the three round tables, offered by Matthias Schu, Head of E-Commerce Projects at coop@home, Laura Treude, Online Payments Team Leader at Douglas, and Thomas Gruhle, Managing Director of LEAP Digital Marketing, congress attendees will have the opportunity to engage in interactive discussions with the experts on subjects like “Development and introduction of an online payment area – opportunities, risks and stumbling blocks”. In his presentation, Thomas Gruhle will show visitors how they can use nudging – gentle pushes to encourage smart, free purchasing decisions – to significantly improve their websites. He is convinced: "With clear, goal-oriented decision architectures, more visitors can become customers, and this knowledge can help you take your business to the next level.”
