Young talent forum for experimental design
At the forum for experimental design in hall 2.1, young international designers will present their ideas and prototypes from the areas of product design, interior architecture and architecture.
The framework for this is provided by university presentations and the Pure Talents Contest organised by the imm cologne. The winning presentations of this international competition for up-and-coming talent are a long-standing attraction at the imm cologne. The Pure Talents Contest, organised by Koelnmesse, is regarded as one of the most internationally renowned design competitions for young designers. The aim is to promote up-and-coming designers in the furnishing sector. Only designers or design groups who are still studying or who graduated no more than three years ago are eligible to take part. Participation in the competition as well as in the special exhibition is free of charge for the designers. The winners of the Pure Talents Contest are known for their visionary, unconventional and often provocative designs and prototypes.
Platform for the international design scene
Another permanent feature of Pure Studios are the self-presentations of the universities. As a non-commercial trade fair format for the promotion of young designers, Pure Studios presents a spectrum of the international creative scene that is unique in its breadth and quality with its circle of young designers, technical colleges and universities. The exhibition is regarded as a highlight for all those who are looking for something unusual, something not quite smooth yet, between the imm cologne's enormous selection of market-conforming and high-end products: prototypes, experimental, unconventional in a top-class exhibition that is selected and presented in a neutral manner.
