Pure Editions is imm cologne’s dynamic format for curators of visionary furniture and furnishing concepts, condensed down to a tee. The custom-designed layout, with its halls clad in dark surfacing, creates a stage-like environment for showcasing the product concepts and interior designs of the international array of Pure Editions exhibitors: a showcase for design installations that lead the way forward. The Featured Editions special events – around a dozen selected installations developed by designers and architects – and “Das Haus – Interiors on Stage” are particular highlights of Pure Editions and emphasise the gallery-like character of this hall. Traditionally, young independent designers and design studios can also be depended on to provide a few surprises in the direct vicinity of the Pure Editions leading design brands. Pure Editions is imm cologne’s platform for creative brands with visionary products and product concepts, showcased in close proximity. As the second format in the Pure design segment, Pure Editions focuses on conceptual presentations in which visionary design and ambitious brands are regarded as equal players in the design process.
Visitors will experience Pure Editions like a gallery for the design icons and form concepts of our time. Here there is room for designers and brands to express statements, a platform for curators of furniture, luminaires, classics and creative design items who want to set benchmarks, but also for developers of innovative materials and new applications. Pure Editions provides an exclusive setting for the discourse on progressive design, a discourse providing new momentum which is conducted at the successfully established trend forum The Stage. At The Stage, experts will talk about the culture of living and related trends, designers will comment on their concepts and industry insiders will discuss future developments.
Individual. Open. Accessible.
Pure Editions provides an integrated hall ambience with individually designable architecture as a platform for strong statements by visionary brands. Pure Editions brings them together on the basis of their innovative character whilst simultaneously highlighting their uniqueness. There is therefore only one guideline for the design of these brands’ presentations: openness. At visual level the booths, which occupy spaces of between 50 and approx. 150 m² and can be individually designed by the exhibitors, are kept open and accessible.
Pure Editions’ main presentation format differs thereby from the traditional fair architecture just as it differs from the condensed structure of the complentary Platforms and Startups format. Platforms and Pure Studios will present an extremely diverse range of interior design products as well as the work of young design labels and independent designers. The unique format of design event “Das Haus – Interiors on Stage” also stands out from the fair’s architecture with a new and renowned artist selected each year to present their wholly personal vision of living.
The special Featured Editions exhibition
The special Featured Editions exhibition combines the exclusive character of this hall with the experimental: on more than twelve platforms positioned between the booths, various designers – some of them young, some already well-known – collaborate with the companies involved to create a series of compact and creative exhibitions and installations. Just like the participating brands, the themes for these stages are specially selected. Koelnmesse’s close collaboration with Internet platform Stylepark ensures the Featured Editions shown exhibit the appropriate interior design relevance. The same high standards of quality that apply to Pure are binding for Pure Editions as well.
