Dr. Kai Hudetz has been Chief Executive Officer of the IFH Cologne since August 2009. Prior to this, he was Director of the institute’s E-Commerce Centre (ECC Köln), having been one of the group behind its founding in 1999.

His many years of experience have made Dr. Hudetz one of the most sought-after e-commerce experts in Germany. He has authored a number of studies and many specialist articles on current issues in retail in the digital era. In addition to teaching as a visiting lecturer at various universities, Kai Hudetz is a popular speaker and moderator at leading industry events. Dr. Hudetz also served on the supervisory board of Intershop Communications AG from June 2013 to June 2016 and is currently a member of several advisory boards.

Gero Furchheim has been President of the German Association of E-Commerce and the Mail Order Trade (bevh) since 2014. He began his career in the furniture industry in 2008 as Executive Director of creative inneneinrichter GmbH & Co KG in Darmstadt, the associated group of owner-run furniture shops, which Cairo AG arose from.

As Head of Shipping and Local, Häntsch launched diverse omnichannel initiatives and shipping concepts for sellers of all sizes and developed innovation projects that advanced eBay’s growth together with its sellers, shipping providers and other partners.

Andreas Häntsch joined eBay in 2007 as the head of a European project management team. He was then named Head of Enterprise Account Management Europe. In this role, he was responsible for the accounts of large, international companies and brand manufacturers that use eBay as part of their multichannel strategies.

Before joining eBay, he worked for the management consultancy Accenture as a telecommunications and high-tech consultant for more than five years. Andreas Häntsch studied at the Freie Universität Berlin, where he gained a diploma in business administration. He lives with his wife and two children in Potsdam.

After graduating with a diploma in business administration, he progressed through a number of positions in New York and Hamburg before assuming the role of Product Manager at OTTO GmbH in 2003. In 2007, he then made the switch to Fressnapf-Tiernahrungs GmbH, where he was responsible for setting up the company’s online and mail order commerce business as Head of E-Commerce until 2014.

Prior to making the move to Karstadt, Marco Werner served as Director of E-Commerce & CRM at Tchibo GmbH from 2014 to 2017. In this role, he was responsible for sales on the tchibo.de platform and via the Tchibo catalogue.
